Creation

Nour

Nour, which means “light,” is a one-hour musical and stage work for Persian voice, târ, santur, string quartet, piano, and synthesizer. The creative process that led to the creation of Nour was driven by the conviction that Persian and Western traditions could dialogue and enrich one another, not by merging, but by affirming their respective identities. Initiated by Elham Manouchehri, artistic director of Production Pendar, the work was composed by Hooshyar Khayam.

Creation

The Pomegranate Empire

L’Empire de Grenade is a musical and stage work inspired by Iran’s musical heritage from the Qajar era (1789–1925). The project revisits works from this pivotal period in Iranian history, particularly those by Aref Qazvini and Ali Akbar Sheyda, two artistic figures who continue to hold an important place in the collective memory. Passed down orally from generation to generation, these songs express the social concerns and aspirations of a society undergoing major transformations.
